President Oligui Nguema advances public infrastructure modernization in health and higher education

The President delivered state-of-the-art medical equipment to the Libreville University Hospital Center CHUL, including ultrasound machines, suction machines, multiparameter monitors, an MRI machine, and two ambulances. This initiative aims to enhance diagnostic capabilities, patient care, and hospital service responsiveness, following a similar operation at the Owendo University Hospital Center. President Oligui Nguema urged beneficiaries to rigorously maintain the new equipment to ensure its durability and sustained access to quality care for the population.

During his visit, the President also inaugurated the renovated and expanded National Public Health Laboratory LNSP. The facility's area has increased from 750 to 1,250 square meters, and its capacity has grown from 20 to 39 rooms, equipped with modern biomedical tools to improve analysis and diagnosis of epidemic-prone diseases. Laboratory officials noted that this modernization will significantly reduce diagnostic times and strengthen national health surveillance capabilities.

The President praised this development as part of the government's goal to establish Gabon's health system as a sub-regional center of excellence. Additionally, President Oligui Nguema visited Owendo to assess the progress of the University of Health Sciences USS extension project. Launched in 2024, th
