Egypt hosts Africa Health ExCon 2026 to advance healthcare sovereignty across the continent
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the fifth edition of Africa Health ExCon 2026 in Cairo on June 15, 2026, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event, running until June 18, is organized by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and the Management of Medical Technology, and is held under the patronage of President El-Sisi. The conference, themed "Health Sovereignty in Africa: Leadership, Resilience, and Self-Reliance," is a collaboration with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Africa CDC. It aims to position Egypt as a regional healthcare hub and support resilient healthcare systems across Africa, aligning with the African Union鈥檚 Agenda 2063 and Egypt Vision 2030. The event features over 400 local, regional, and international companies, with an expected attendance of more than 45,000 visitors, including experts, investors, and decision-makers. It includes over 21 high-level panel discussions, specialized sessions, and technical workshops focused on transforming healthcare challenges into investment and development opportunities. Dr. Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, highlighted the event's role as a platform for dialogue and strategic partnerships.
