Turkey requests Interpol red notice for Benjamin Netanyahu over Gaza Flotilla incident
The Turkish Ministry of Justice has submitted a request to Interpol for a Red Notice against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This request seeks international assistance for his arrest in connection with the interception of the Freedom Flotilla, which was en route to Gaza. Legal proceedings are underway in Istanbul, involving 35 defendants, including Netanyahu and Avigdor Moskowitz. Arrest warrants were issued on July 14, 2026, on charges including genocide. The Ministry of Justice formally requested the Ministry of the Interior to process the Red Notices through Interpol, and legal documentation has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Netanyahu and Moskovitz face charges such as crimes against humanity, genocide, aggravated deprivation of liberty, willful harm, torture, destruction of property, aggravated robbery, and hijacking of transport vehicles, stemming from the armed raid on civilian aid workers in international waters and the subsequent detention of activists.
