Police inspector, NAF corporal killed in Plateau ambush, service weapons stolen

The attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday after four security personnel, from two guard locations, mounted a snap roadblock along the Ganawuri–Sabon Gida road. When two of the personnel failed to return to their duty posts, a clearance operation was launched, leading to the discovery of their bodies. Their service weapons were taken by the attackers.

Community sources, including one named Catherine, indicated that the ambush happened near an area previously occupied by Fulani herders and close to a native settlement. Security agencies have since scaled up operations, commencing cordon-and-search operations in nearby communities and clearance operations to track down suspects and recover the stolen weapons. A source within the Plateau State Police Command confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
