Plateau State Police identify six suspects in Jos mob killing, four arrested

Four suspects have been arrested, while two remain at large. DSP Alfred Alabo, the Command's Public Relations Officer, stated that the police received information about a young man critically injured after an assault, who later died. An intensive investigation led to the arrest of three suspects, who confessed their roles, and a fourth suspect was later apprehended.

Emmanuel Newyear was identified as a key suspect, allegedly assaulting the deceased with a wooden plank, and Joshua Tell was also arrested. Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects shared a common educational background, leading to the involvement of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS. NANS officials attended the parade of suspects, condemning the incident and supporting efforts for justice.

The police reiterated their commitment to justice for Mbaya and warned against mob violence, urging the public to report criminal allegations to law enforcement. The death of Mbaya has caused outrage in Jos, with calls for justice and action against mob violence in Plateau State.
