
Mr Eazi plans Nigerian Exchange listing, inspired by Dangote and Otedola
Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi, also known as Oluwatosin Ajibade, announced his intention to list his companies on Nigeria's domestic capital market. In an interview with Nairametrics, Mr Eazi stated that he is inspired by industrial leaders like Alhaji Aliko Dangote and his father-in-law Mr Femi Otedola, who have built global companies and listed them locally, allowing Nigerians to invest. He expressed support for giving everyday Nigerians a stake in the digital businesses they help create. Mr Eazi, founder of emPawa Africa and Choplife, plans to emulate these business leaders by listing not only traditional businesses but also ventures in the "new world" of entertainment, media, tech, gaming, and intellectual property. As part of this strategy, Choplife's core operations are shifting to Itana, a digital-first economic zone in Nigeria, which he views as an opportunity to centralize operations on the continent and mitigate global risks associated with offshore holding structures. He also highlighted the need for improved infrastructure, such as mid-sized music venues, and policy harmonization across Africa to foster a unified digital market.
