Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight contractually agreed, promoter Eddie Hearn confirms
The highly anticipated boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been signed, according to Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn. Despite earlier suggestions from Fury that the all-British showdown might not occur, Hearn confirmed on Sunday that a contract is in place, stating, "We've signed the contract, we're waiting for a date." Hearn emphasized that neither fighter can withdraw from the agreement. The primary unresolved issue is the fight's location. While it was initially expected to take place in the United Kingdom in November, Saudi organizers Sela are advocating for a United States venue, with Madison Square Garden in New York reportedly among the preferred options. Both Joshua and Fury have separate contracts with Sela. The fight is also anticipated to be broadcast on Netflix. Hearn indicated that the Joshua camp prefers the fight to remain in Britain but would consider a move to the United States under suitable terms. Discussions with Sela are ongoing, and Hearn stressed that the fight itself is not in danger of falling apart, with the venue and date being the main outstanding details for what is expected to be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.
