Over 2.7 million Moroccan expatriates welcomed since launch of Marhaba 2026 operation

The number of vehicles entering the country reached 287,518 units by August 3, a 12.43% decrease compared to the same date in 2025, attributed to many expatriates opting for carpooling due to high travel costs. Maritime arrivals have accelerated, reaching 1,430,811 people by August 3, accounting for 52.19% of total entries. Tanger Med port alone welcomed 512,693 travelers, 35.89% of all maritime arrivals, followed by Nador with 200,013 travelers and Tanger Ville with 168,240 passengers.

For air entries, Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca led with 333,490 travelers, 25.44% of total air entries, followed by Marrakech-Menara Airport 225,086, Tanger-Ibn Battouta Airport 167,147, and Nador and Rabat-Salé airports with 119,487 and 119,452 travelers respectively, totaling 1,310,759 air entries. Abdellah highlighted the continuous mobilization of all stakeholders to ensure optimal transit and travel conditions for expatriates. Jaafar Ameyer, central director of Tanger Med port, noted a record of 31,917 travelers and 8,612 vehicles on August 2, an increase of 4% and 5% respectively from August 2, 2025.
