Federal Government inaugurates fertility care centre in Borno State
The Federal Government has unveiled a new fertility care centre and maternity complex at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Borno State. Constructed by the Northeast Development Commission, the solar-powered facility is equipped with advanced medical technology, including an intracytoplasmic sperm injection machine, incubators, oxygen concentrators, and laboratory equipment. Uba Ahmadu, the Minister of State for Regional Development, stated that the centre aims to prevent residents from traveling outside the state and region for healthcare services. He highlighted President Bola Tinubu's commitment to the development of the North East region through investments in various sectors, including health. Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum commended the Ministry of Regional Development and the North East Development Commission for their focus on healthcare, noting that the NEDC recently procured modern MRI machines and CT scans for tertiary health facilities across the North East sub-region.
