
Algeria launches national project to develop smart robot prototypes
Algeria's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has initiated a national project to design three smart robot prototypes for local manufacturing. This program includes the development of a 4- and 6-legged robot dog, a humanoid robot, and an autonomous delivery robot. The project involves students from the National Superior Schools of Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, and Autonomous Systems, as well as researchers from the Center for Advanced Technologies Research CDTA. The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, and attended by expert and researcher Mourad Bouzit, a professor at Qingdao University in China. The primary goal was to establish a practical roadmap for creating industrializable prototypes, leveraging national expertise and university scientific research. A technology platform dedicated to robotics will be established at the Sidi Abdellah Scientific and Technological Hub to develop and test these prototypes, fostering synergy between universities, research centers, and advanced technology sector players. This initiative aligns with Algeria's broader strategy to boost technological innovation and utilize artificial intelligence.
