Oncologist warns Nigerians about dangers of silence on cancer symptoms

Dr. Olatunji stressed that early detection and treatment are crucial for saving lives and controlling cancer cases in Nigeria.

She also commended the Federal Government's health insurance program for helping to reduce out-of-pocket expenses, advocating for further efforts to deepen public awareness of its existence. This warning follows the death of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, who passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after battling stage-four cancer.
