Afenyo-Markin clashes with Ahiafor over Supreme Court vetting at Appointment Committee
Minority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin objected to the vetting of Supreme Court justice nominees by President John Dramani Mahama, leading to a clash with Appointment Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor. Afenyo-Markin argued that the Majority Caucus was disregarding parliamentary Standing Orders and forcing the process without proper procedure, especially given the irreversible nature of Supreme Court appointments.
