Afenyo-Markin clashes with Ahiafor over Supreme Court vetting at Appointment Committee

Afenyo-Markin argued that the Majority Caucus was disregarding parliamentary Standing Orders and forcing the process without proper procedure, especially given the irreversible nature of Supreme Court appointments. He moved to suspend the vetting, stating that a procedural shortcut was not acceptable for such critical judicial offices. Ahiafor, however, rejected the objection, asserting that the committee could not overturn a decision already made by the full House.

He ruled for the vetting to proceed, prompting Afenyo-Markin and the Minority Caucus to boycott the proceedings after continued debate.
