
Ghana Education Service interdicts two watchmen at Bolgatanga Girls SHS over alleged assault
The Ghana Education Service GES has interdicted two watchmen from Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School following an alleged sexual assault involving a student. The watchmen were also arrested and handed over to the Police for investigation. The alleged incident occurred when a special needs student, who is on medication, reportedly experienced a relapse and required medical attention. GES stated that the interdiction is an initial response while thorough investigations proceed. The Service emphasized that appropriate sanctions would be applied based on investigation outcomes and in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct and Ghanaian laws. GES also cautioned staff to maintain professionalism and protect student safety and dignity, asserting that it will not tolerate conduct compromising student wellbeing. Management assured the public that the matter is being treated with seriousness.
