National Assembly to convene extraordinary session with 11 key items on agenda
The National Assembly Bureau has scheduled the first extraordinary session of the 2026-2027 legislative year for next Monday at 10 AM. The session will address a busy agenda, including eleven texts, several sensitive reforms, and requests for parliamentary inquiry commissions. Deputies will examine two legislative proposals, three bills, and six requests for the establishment of parliamentary inquiry commissions. Among the anticipated texts is a legislative proposal to amend Article 37 of the Constitution, concerning the declaration of assets by the President of the Republic. Lawmakers will also consider a legislative proposal to regulate special credits and other secret funds, a recurring topic in public finance transparency debates. Both legislative proposals were previously deemed admissible by the National Assembly Bureau in July. This extraordinary session is expected to be decisive, with discussions on institutional reforms, bills, and multiple requests for parliamentary inquiry commissions, aiming to reignite debates on major issues of governance, public action oversight, and institutional transparency.
