Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke urges President Tinubu to intervene in alleged extrajudicial killings
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on President Bola Tinubu to address alleged extrajudicial killings in the state. Speaking in Osogbo during a campaign rally for the Accord Party, Governor Adeleke stated that he and his party have endorsed President Tinubu for another term and implored him to protect the state's residents. He warned against any manipulation of the August 15 governorship election, asserting that the electorate would frustrate such plans. Governor Adeleke accused the police of being compromised in the state's political crisis and urged all stakeholders to prevent a recurrence of the 1983 general election crisis in the region. He emphasized the need for a free and fair election, stating that Osun State would not accept rigging and that citizens would defend their votes. Fourteen political parties have been cleared by the Independent National Electoral Commission to field candidates in the upcoming governorship election.
