Osun police summon senator over alleged threat against Accord Party members
The Osun State Police Command has summoned Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East in the Senate, regarding alleged threats he made against members of the Accord Party ahead of the state's governorship election. The command's spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police for the election, Samuel Etaifo, issued the summons. Senator Fadahunsi and Francis Eniade, the All Progressives Congress candidate for Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, faced criticism after a video circulated on social media. In the video, Fadahunsi, speaking in Yoruba, allegedly stated that any Accord Party member seen in Ilesha, Osun State, before the election would be killed. Sources indicated he made these remarks at the palace of Owa Obokun of Ijesaland during a protest against the alleged killing of three All Progressives Congress members. Eniade, in another video, allegedly instructed that no Accord Party member should vote in Odo Otin Local Government Area. Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke called for Fadahunsi's arrest, stating his comments could lead to mass killings and posed a national security threat.
