Arsenal chief executive calls for clarity on Manchester City financial charges
Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick has expressed the Premier League's desire for a swift resolution to the disciplinary case involving Manchester City. The case, which includes over 100 alleged breaches of financial rules, has been ongoing for more than 18 months since the hearing concluded and approximately three and a half years since the initial charges. Manchester City has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Garlick acknowledged the frustration over the lengthy process but stated it is outside Arsenal's control, hoping for a quick solution. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters also admitted the case is taking longer than anticipated, describing it as "hugely complex" and emphasizing the need for the independent process to run its course. The delay is reportedly causing concern among Premier League clubs, with some suggesting a need for a better system for future disciplinary cases. The Premier League incurred 拢45 million in legal costs during the 2023-24 season, largely due to financial regulation disputes.
