
Aldoro Resources declares Namibia's Kameelburg Project as world's largest strontium deposit
Australian-listed Aldoro Resources has announced that its Kameelburg Project in Namibia holds the world's largest strontium deposit. The company significantly upgraded the project's mineral resource, strengthening its position in the global critical minerals market. An updated independent JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate shows Kameelburg contains 802.1 million tonnes grading 2.11% strontium, equivalent to 3.54% strontium carbonate. Strontium is a key component in the manufacture of permanent magnets. The updated resource, effective June 30, also increased the project's total rare earth resource to 804.5 million tonnes grading 2.90% total rare earth oxide equivalent, including approximately 1.37 million tonnes of neodymium-praseodymium NdPr oxide. NdPr is a critical material used in permanent magnets for electric vehicles, wind turbines, defense technologies, and artificial intelligence-enabled robotics. Aldoro chairwoman Quinn Li stated that the project offers exposure to both the high-value rare earth magnet market and the global industrial magnet sector. She highlighted that Kameelburg not only supplies critical rare earth elements for high-performance neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets but also hosts the world's largest strontium mineral resource, essential for strontium ferrite permanent magnets, which are the most widely produced permanent magnets by volume. Li also noted the project's unique mineralogy, where mineralization occurs primarily within ancylite,
