Nedbank Namibia reports 91% digital banking adoption and strong first-half 2026 results
Nedbank Namibia announced that 91% of its customers are actively using digital banking channels, a key factor in its business growth and increased transaction volumes. Managing Director Martha Murorua highlighted this achievement during the bank's first-half 2026 results announcement, noting that digital adoption has contributed to stronger lending and deposit growth. The bank has also increased the proportion of customers using Nedbank as their primary bank to 42% in Namibia. Nedbank continues to refine its digital strategy, focusing on encouraging active account usage following the launch of its mobile wallet platform. The bank also expanded its product offerings with MyCover Funeral and saw continued traction for its Pay Today digital payments platform. These customer metrics supported double-digit headline earnings growth for Nedbank Namibia, contributing to Nedbank Group's N$8.4 billion headline earnings for the first half of the year. Terence Sibiya, managing executive for Nedbank Africa Regions, stated that the group will continue investing in technology to enhance digital banking functionality and client experience.
