Libya's Atomic Energy Corporation has proposed rehabilitating and operating the Tajoura nuclear research reactor to produce radioisotopes for medical diagnostic and treatment purposes. This initiative aims to reduce the country's reliance on imported isotopes and lower state expenditure on sending patients abroad for nuclear medicine.
