Morocco solidifies position as UK's leading raspberry supplier
Morocco has strengthened its lead in the fresh raspberry market in the United Kingdom, becoming the dominant supplier. Exports reached 18,400 tons during the 2025-2026 campaign, despite a global decline in UK imports. Morocco now accounts for 62.9% of imported volumes, continuing a consistent increase over the past five campaigns and confirming its central role in the UK's supply. According to data published by EastFruit, an international platform specializing in fruit and vegetable market analysis, Moroccan raspberry exports to the UK achieved a new record in the 2025-2026 campaign. Volumes shipped increased by 1.6% compared to the previous campaign, even as total British raspberry imports decreased during the same period. Over five campaigns, Moroccan volumes shipped to the British market have multiplied by 2.6, with the country's share of UK raspberry imports rising from 21.3% in 2020-2021 to 62.9% in 2025-2026. Morocco has transitioned from a secondary supplier to the primary origin of raspberries imported by the United Kingdom. Since the 2022-2023 campaign, Morocco has held the top position among suppliers to the British market. Its progress further accelerated from 2024-2025, when it surpassed half of the imported volumes, consolidating a significant lead over Spain. Spain now trails Morocco with 19.1% of British imports. Portugal accounts for 6.5% of volumes, followed by Germany with 4.2%, while the Netherlands and South Africa provide more limited supplies. In the Uni
