Morocco U20 football team qualifies for Mediterranean Games semifinals
The Moroccan national under-20 football team has secured a spot in the semifinals of the Mediterranean Games football tournament. This qualification followed their decisive 5-1 victory over North Macedonia on Wednesday at Franco Fanuzzi stadium in Brindisi, Italy. The match was part of the third and final day of the group stage. Goals for Morocco were scored by Hamza Raji in the 1st minute, Ryan Zenibi in the 38th minute, Mohamed Monssef in the 59th minute, Karim Essaadi in the 79th minute, and Abdelghafour Gourari in the 85th minute. In the semifinals, scheduled for Friday, August 28, at Lacovone stadium in Taranto, Morocco will face the leader of Group B, which includes Algeria, Italy, Albania, and Kosovo. Earlier in the tournament, the Moroccan team drew 2-2 with Turkey and lost 1-0 to Tunisia.
