Morocco and Senegal committed to strengthening their unique African partnership
Morocco and Senegal are committed to further strengthening their unique partnership in Africa. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting in Luanda between Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister, and Cheikh Niang, the Senegalese Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad. Both ministers emphasized the convergence of views between Rabat and Dakar and their desire to energize bilateral cooperation mechanisms. Niang described the relationship as "fusionnelle" and evolving according to the expectations of both heads of state, noting the excellence of cooperation and the constancy of friendship between the Moroccan and Senegalese peoples. Bourita affirmed that the meeting, part of a tradition of ongoing consultation, allowed for discussions on the clear directives from King Mohammed VI and the Senegalese President to continuously enrich and dynamize the bilateral relationship. He stressed that no other African country shares the same relationship developed by Morocco and Senegal over decades. The discussions also covered the roadmap for bilateral relations, its implementation, and the revitalization of cooperation mechanisms, as well as permanent coordination on issues concerning the Sahel, Atlantic Africa, and regional and multilateral matters related to the African continent.
