Minority Caucus boycotts vetting of Supreme Court justice nominees

The boycott occurred before the vetting of Justice Edward Amoako Asante could begin, with Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, objecting to the process. He argued for a postponement, claiming the vetting should take place in October and accusing the Majority Caucus of violating House rules. Bernard Ahiofor, Chairman of the Appointment Committee, challenged this objection, stating no rules were violated and ruled for the vetting to proceed.

Consequently, the Minority Leader declared his side would not participate due to perceived rule violations.
