
Wontumi's Exim Bank case proceeds to trial after failed plea deal
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, a former Ashanti Regional Minister of the NPP, will face trial in the Exim Bank Loan case after failing to reach a plea agreement with the state. The prosecution has been directed to submit disclosures within 14 days. A Case Management Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10 o'clock. Antwi Boasiako and two other individuals are facing four charges: defrauding by false pretenses, uttering a forged document, money laundering, and intentionally causing financial loss to a public body, amounting to GHc30,000,000.
