Michael Blackson alleges medical negligence and financial exploitation at University of Ghana Medical Centre after mother's death

In posts on X on August 4, 2026, Blackson claimed the UGMC repeatedly misdiagnosed his mother's illness and recommended expensive treatments, suggesting this was done to extract money from him. He accused the hospital staff of prioritizing money over patient care, stating that individuals without financial means would likely not receive adequate medical attention. Blackson also alleged that the hospital falsely claimed his mother could not breathe and could not be moved when he attempted to transfer her to another facility.

He further claimed that a staff member requested money from him when he went to identify his mother's remains.
