Housing and Lands Minister Shakeel Mohamed has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Financial Crimes Commission FCC, threatening to take the institution to the Supreme Court if it fails to regularize his asset declaration situation. Through his attorney, Me Cader Mallam-Hassam, Mohamed served a Letter before Action, demanding immediate measures from the FCC. The Minister accuses the FCC of not properly updating its public registers, despite his assertion that he has fulfilled his legal obligations. A third submission was made via letter on January 22, 2025, to complete the file and explain the late filing.
