Malawi defeats Algeria 3-1 to reach historic WAFCON final

The Chawinga sisters, Tabitha and Temwa, contributed all three goals for Malawi. Algeria's task became more challenging early in the first half when Morgane Belkhiter received a red card. Tabitha Chawinga opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, followed by Temwa Chawinga's goal just before halftime, giving Malawi a 2-0 lead.

Algeria's Ikram Adjabi reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 60th minute. However, Tabitha Chawinga scored her second goal to restore Malawi's two-goal advantage, making it 3-1. Malawi maintained their lead through the closing stages, despite a late attempt by Algeria's Laura Muller, to continue their debut WAFCON run.
