Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah, 9th Khadre General Caliph, passes away at 96
The Khadre community in Senegal and Mauritania is mourning the passing of its 9th General Caliph, Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah, known as "Yaguene." He died at the age of 96 at Principal Hospital in Dakar. Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah became Caliph in 2022 and was a respected religious figure, recognized for his humility and dedication to the unity of Cheikhna Cheikh Saad Bouh's family. He was also a contemporary of the General Caliph of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Mback茅, and held in high regard by many religious families. Following the announcement of his death, the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and several religious figures paid tribute to his memory. The late religious leader will be buried in Nimzatt, Mauritania, a significant site for the Khadre community. The caliphate will now be assumed by the eldest member of the family, Cheikh Sidy Bouya Ould Cheikh Hadrame.
