Egypt condemns attack on UAE vessel in Hormuz, urges de-escalation
Egypt has strongly condemned the missile attack on an oil tanker operated by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ADNOC in the Strait of Hormuz. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as a serious threat to maritime navigation and trade. ADNOC reported no injuries and that the situation was brought under control. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps IRGC of carrying out an "aggressive Iranian attack," calling it an act of piracy and a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. The UAE urged Iran to cease such attacks and fully comply with a cessation of hostilities. Egypt affirmed its solidarity with the UAE, rejected acts threatening navigation, and called for de-escalation and diplomatic solutions to ensure regional security and stability.
