Libyan leaders offer contrasting views on military's role in politics

In contrast, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, commander of the "General Command" in eastern Libya, asserted the necessity for the army to occupy a central position in decision-making to safeguard the country's supreme interest and preserve the Armed Forces' achievements. Haftar's comments were made during a ceremony also commemorating the 86th anniversary of the Libyan Army.
