
Libya and Malta discuss enhancing economic, trade, and investment relations
Tripoli's Minister of Economy and Trade met with the Charg茅 d'affaires of the Maltese Embassy in Libya, Shaun Chircop Troisi, and the Director of the Malta Enterprise Authority, Charles Saliba, to discuss strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties. This meeting followed the Malta Enterprise Authority's return to Libya after a 12-year absence, signaling Malta's interest in developing economic cooperation. Both parties emphasized supporting Maltese companies expanding into Libya and leveraging opportunities in the Libyan market to boost private sector partnerships. The Malta Enterprise Authority also presented incentives for companies establishing or expanding operations in Malta, offering Libyan companies access to these programs and international markets. The Ministry of Economy stated that the Authority's return underscores the historical relationship between the two countries and is a significant step towards increased economic cooperation and new business and investment opportunities for the private sectors in Libya and Malta.
