Kogi APC local government chairman killed, another abducted by gunmen

Another occupant of his vehicle was abducted during the incident, which occurred around Ojuwo Olijo in Ofu Local Government Area. Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Afusat Saliu, confirmed that armed assailants emerged from the bush and opened fire on motorists around 5 pm. A blue Toyota Corolla, registration number GWA 636 CH, was found abandoned with Yunusa deceased inside, while the other occupant was taken into the bush.

The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have intensified operations to rescue the abducted victim and apprehend the assailants. The deceased has been taken to Grimard Hospital, Anyigba, for autopsy. Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has directed sustained security operations and efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
