Kithure Kindiki dismisses reports of duties transferred to Musalia Mudavadi as 'fake news
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has responded to reports claiming some of his government responsibilities were transferred to Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. Kindiki dismissed the claims as "Fake news" on social media. The reports, published by KTN News and The Standard, alleged that Mudavadi was designated to administer the Intergovernmental Relations Act and that Kindiki had relinquished his role as chairperson of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council IBEC. These reports sparked political debate and revived former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua's earlier claims about the weakening of the deputy president's office. Gachagua alleged that Kindiki was experiencing similar treatment to what he said led to his own political fallout, and that President William Ruto was behind an effort to politically isolate Kindiki.
