Kano State Government partners with Aliko Dangote Foundation for skills acquisition center management

The agreement, announced by the Governor’s Spokesman, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, aims to enhance the center's potential in providing entrepreneurial and vocational training for youths in Kano State. The MoU was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkareem Maude, representing the state government. The Aliko Dangote Foundation was represented by its Programme Manager North, Alhaji Sanusi Abdulkadir, and Programme Support Officer, Mustapha Umar.

Governor Yusuf, represented by the SSG, stated that the foundation's involvement would bring significant development, leveraging its technical and managerial expertise to transform the center into a leading training institution in Nigeria and West Africa. The decision to hand over management followed deliberations by the State Executive Council to adopt best practices in vocational training. The governor expressed confidence that Alhaji Aliko Dangote, a native of Kano State, would contribute his expertise and resources to develop the skills and entrepreneurial capacity of the state's youth.

The Aliko Dangote Ultra-Modern Skills Acquisition Centre was established by the Kano State Government under former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and named after Aliko Dangote.
