APC sets August 22 for state and federal legislative primaries

These primaries will select candidates for four restored State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, as well as for legislative bye-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta, and Kano states. The party's National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, announced the timetable and schedule of activities, which follows the Independent National Electoral Commission's decision to restore the previously suppressed constituencies. The affected Delta constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II State Constituencies, while Yagba West II State Constituency is in Kogi.

Legislative bye-elections will be held for Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi; Udu State Constituency in Delta; and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano. The sale of forms will run from August 18 to August 20, with submissions due by August 20. Screening of aspirants, publication of results, and appeals are set for August 21, leading up to the primary election on August 22.
