This marks the end of their continental journey after returning to the competition following a twelve-year absence. Ivory Coast initially took the lead in the 30th minute with a goal from Inès Konan. However, a red card for Habibou Ouedraogo before halftime left the Ivorians playing with ten players for the entire second half.

Algeria capitalized on their numerical advantage, with Inès Khiri equalizing in the 58th minute. Despite being awarded a penalty, Rebecca Elloh failed to convert, and just two minutes later, Amira Ould Braham scored Algeria's second goal in the 64th minute, securing their victory. The Elephants will now prepare for a decisive play-off match on August 13 to qualify for the 2027 Women's World Cup.
