ICPC uncovers unauthorized 'Made-in-Nigeria' project office operating within government premises

ICPC Chairman Musa Aliyu stated that the office was illegally allocated space within the OSGF without presidential authorization. George Buchi Nwabueze was identified as the promoter, operating under various names. Following this discovery, President Bola Tinubu ordered Nwabueze's arrest and the suspension of three permanent secretaries: M.S. Danjuma, Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P. Pheelangwah.

The organization's website claimed a broad mandate to promote Nigerian products, support businesses, and drive a production-led economy, citing its conception in 2006 and formalization in 2017 under Ambassador Chike Alex Anigbo. This is the fourth fictitious body uncovered in an ongoing investigation, following the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, the FCT Investment Promotion Agency, and the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency and Public-Private Partnership. The ICPC's investigation is continuing.
