House committee faces challenge in questioning PFIPC head Adeyemi amid demands for media and lawyer presence

Adeyemi, currently in police custody, insists on the presence of his lawyers and journalists before he submits to questioning. The committee, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, is probing how the PFIPC secured official accommodation and a budgetary allocation of over N1.32bn in the 2026 Appropriation Act despite allegedly lacking legal existence. Meanwhile, the Coalition of United Political Parties CUPP has rejected the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission's ICPC findings on the PFIPC controversy, calling for a broader and more transparent inquiry.
