South African minister praises Namibia's solidarity amidst xenophobia accusations
South Africa's Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, commended Namibia as a "true brother and sister" nation for its support during accusations of xenophobia against South Africa. Speaking at the Iziko Museum in Cape Town, McKenzie addressed criticism regarding strict documentation enforcement for foreign nationals, stating that requiring valid documents does not equate to xenophobia. He expressed deep appreciation to the Namibian people, highlighting their solidarity with South Africa's national football team, Bafana Bafana, during their 2026 World Cup campaign, when other nations withheld support. McKenzie emphasized the strong historical and fraternal ties between the two countries, concluding with a message of love and salute to Namibians.
