Ghana's 23rd International Book Fair focuses on future transformation

The event, described as a cultural festival, attracted participants from Ghana and internationally. Activities included storytelling from Adwinsa Publications, new titles from Icon Publishing, workshops by the Ghana Library Association, and a focus on indigenous languages by the Bureau of Ghana Languages. The Ghana Book Development Council held sessions on publishing quality, and the Pan-African Writers Association PAWA pledged support for African literature.

The fair welcomed parents, teachers, and thousands of students, offering reading clinics, robotics demonstrations, and interactive literacy programs. Dr. Wale Okediran, Secretary-General of PAWA, commended government support but called for sustained investment in the book industry. The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, officially opened the fair, highlighting books' transformative power.

The event featured discounted books, poetry readings, panel discussions, and children's shows, aiming to shape minds and foster creativity.
