Justice Anthony Forson Jnr vetted by Parliament for Supreme Court nomination
Justice Anthony Forson Jnr appeared before Parliament鈥檚 Appointments Committee for vetting after being nominated to the Supreme Court by President John Dramani Mahama. He is the sole nominee from private legal practice and a former President of the Ghana Bar Association. His nomination, made in consultation with the Judicial Council, aligns with the 1992 constitution, which mandates presidential consultation with the Council for Supreme Court appointments, subject to parliamentary approval. The vetting process is expected to scrutinize his judicial experience, legal knowledge, professional record, understanding of constitutional principles, and overall suitability for the apex court.
