
Ivorian government secures cashew supply for processing plants
The Grouping of Ivorian Cashew Processors GTCI, representing national processors handling 100,000 tons of raw nuts, has commended the signing of a financing agreement on June 11, 2026. This agreement involves the National Investment Bank BNI, the Cotton and Cashew Council CCA, and national processors. These Ivorian operators have invested their own funds in building and developing processing plants, contributing to the industrialization of the sector, value creation, and national economic development. In a letter dated July 17, 2026, addressed to the Presidency, Vice-Presidency, Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Industry, BNI, and CCA, GTCI President Denis Kouadio expressed gratitude for this innovative mechanism. This system finances the supply of raw nuts and covers processing costs for national processors. The GTCI highlighted the support provided to Ivorian operators facing challenges in purchasing raw nuts, processing yields, and the need for significant financing to acquire necessary raw nut volumes during the short marketing campaign and cover year-round processing needs. For the GTCI, this tripartite agreement is a major step forward, aiming to strengthen local processing, secure industrial unit supply, and facilitate access to financing.
