Angolan ambassador visits SOGADA, explores agricultural cooperation with Gabon
Joaquim do Espirito Santo, the Angolan Ambassador to Gabon, visited the Gabonese Agricultural Development Company SOGADA, a subsidiary of HPO & Associ茅s Group, on August 6, 2026. The visit aimed to strengthen agricultural partnerships between Libreville and Luanda, focusing on poultry farming and food sovereignty. The ambassador toured SOGADA's facilities, including its commercial site in Lalala, which houses an egg carton factory, and the Meyang farm, the company's main production center. He met with Herv茅 Patrick Opiangah, Chairman of the Board of HPO & Associ茅s Group. The Angolan delegation observed production infrastructure, farming techniques, and SOGADA's development ambitions in the poultry and pig farming sectors. Discussions highlighted the development of the broiler chicken sector as a key part of the national food sovereignty strategy. The ambassador praised HPO & Associ茅s Group's investments and expressed Angola's interest in supporting SOGADA's growth through partnerships. Identified areas of cooperation include skills transfer, technical assistance, and financing mechanisms for agricultural investments.
