Pierre-Alain Mounguengui to oversee Benin Football Federation elections for CAF
Pierre-Alain Mounguengui, the 3rd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football CAF, is expected in Cotonou on August 25, 2026, to supervise the elective General Assembly of the Benin Football Federation FBF. This mission highlights the confidence CAF places in the Gabonese official. Mounguengui, who is also the president of the Gabonese Football Federation Fegafoot, has been appointed by CAF to ensure the smooth running of the election for the new Executive Committee of the FBF. The election will take place at the Missérété Center of Excellence, located approximately 25 kilometers from Cotonou. He will be accompanied by Sacré Guebae, CAF's legal advisor for compliance, and Philippe Tchéré, executive director of UFOA B. Their role is to ensure adherence to the procedures and rules governing the electoral process. This appointment further solidifies Mounguengui's involvement in continental football governance. Following the elective General Assembly, the Benin Football Federation will announce the composition of its new Executive Committee. Marcellin Bocovè is currently the sole candidate for the presidency of the FBF. Through this mission, Pierre-Alain Mounguengui will contribute, on behalf of CAF, to the proper conduct of an election that will shape the future direction of Beninese football.
