Franco-Algerian businessman involved in controversy over purchase of world's largest painting for $62 million

The artwork, painted in Dubai in 2021, was intended to raise funds for vulnerable children, with all proceeds promised to UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Global Gift Foundation. However, more than five years after the sale, these charitable organizations reportedly have not received any of the promised funds. Abdoune, who identifies as a cryptocurrency billionaire, committed to paying the amount in installments and building a museum in Dubai to display the 1,500 m² artwork.

The transaction did not materialize as planned, and the painting remains in the artist's secure warehouse. Dubai Cares initiated civil proceedings in 2022 against Abdoune and Jafri due to the missing funds.
