FNB T20 Trinations Series set to begin with South Africa and Zimbabwe in Windhoek

The series commences with a match between the SA Proteas and the FNB Namibia Eagles at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground. This marks the first of seven matches in the T20 series, where each team will play each other twice, leading to a final on September 6. Following the T20 series, the SA Proteas will remain in Windhoek for a three-match 50-over One Day International ODI series from September 9 to 13.

Namibia previously defeated the Proteas by four wickets at the stadium's inauguration last year. Although several key players like Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma are absent, South Africa has sent a strong squad, captained by spinner Bjorn Fortuin. The team includes Dewald Brevis, who holds records for the highest T20 score in South Africa 162 and the youngest South African to score a century in T20 internationals 125 off 56 balls against Australia.

Other notable players include Lhuan-Dre Pretorius, Tony de Zorzi, and pace bowlers Kwena Maphaka and Lutho Sipamla. Zimbabwe's team features most of their first-choice players, though pace bowlers Richard Ngarava and Tanaka Chivanga are unavailable due to injury. The team is captained by all-rounder Sikandar Raza, currently the top-ranked T20 international all-rounder.

Their batting lineup is led by Brian Bennett, ranked 12th in the world in T20 internationals, alongside Dion Myers and Innocent Kaia. Bless
