Fire kills woman and three children in Yobe settlement, destroys homes

The deceased were buried according to Islamic rites. The incident left surviving family members homeless after their residence and belongings were destroyed. The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency SEMA, in collaboration with representatives from the Karasuwa Local Government Authority and community stakeholders, conducted an assessment and condolence visit to the affected community on Saturday.

SEMA confirmed the urgent need for emergency relief support, temporary shelter, and psychosocial assistance for the displaced survivors. The agency expressed condolences to Mallam Bukar, the husband and father, and his surviving relatives, and pledged to coordinate humanitarian interventions and mobilize resources to assist those affected. SEMA also appealed for collective efforts to prevent similar incidents in Yobe State.
