Fifteen Italian companies to visit Algiers to boost agricultural modernization

To address this, an economic mission organized by the Italian Trade Agency ICE in partnership with FederUnacoma, representing Italian agricultural machinery manufacturers, will bring approximately fifteen Italian companies to Algiers on September 28 and 29, 2026. The initiative aims to foster strong connections between Italian operators and Algerian public and private sector decision-makers. The discussions will center on five key areas: mechanization and equipment, smart irrigation solutions, digitalization of the sector, specialized nurseries for high-quality fruit and horticultural plants, and modern storage infrastructures to reduce post-harvest losses.

The event will include an introductory workshop, B2B meetings, and site visits to farms in the Algiers region on the second day. Simultaneous translation in French, Italian, and English will be provided. Agriculture is a vital part of Algeria's non-hydrocarbon economy, contributing about 15% to the GDP and covering over 8.6 million hectares of usable agricultural land.
