Federal Government reaffirms commitment to security and diaspora engagement

Ambassador Sola Enikanolaye, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, conveyed this message at the Nigerian Diaspora Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada. The minister acknowledged security as a significant challenge, stating the current administration is actively working to address it. He highlighted Nigeria's new era of strategic autonomy in partnerships with international allies, including the United States, aiming for concrete positive outcomes for Nigerians in terms of security, prosperity, defense, and welfare.

Under President Bola Tinubu's leadership, the government views Nigerians abroad as critical assets for national development rather than a burden. The minister urged Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to overcome ethnic, religious, and tribal divisions to foster cooperation, production, development, growth, and prosperity for Nigeria. He also recognized Canada's role in promoting productive partnerships and thanked the conference organizers and the diaspora community for their contributions to Nigeria's development.
